Stafford’s Venue Wedding | Canby, Oregon
This was the FIRST wedding I ever had the opportunity to shoot. The couple’s name was Bre & Trevin, and they got married in Canby, OR at Stafford’s Venue in July 2023.
The Bre + Trevin weren’t the ones who found me, actually, It was Trevin’s mom that had seen a post i made on an Oregon Wedding Videographer Facebook group. I posted on there saying how I’m really wanting to get started in wedding videographer, and she found it, we spoke, and she booked me!
The wedding day was gorgeous. It was a bright, hot, and sunny July afternoon. The sky was clear and there was a slight breeze. I had never been to Stafford’s Venue before, but I could see why they chose it. It was beautiful, so well laid out, and just felt elegant. It was also fairly tucked away, so it felt nice and far away from any noise from surrounding businesses or riff raff.
My goal with this was to capture the day as it happened, and to keep things natural. The last thing I would want to do would be to force things, and make them follow a specific guide or certain things I had seen from other wedding videographers. For me, it’s important to keep things natural. Get a feel for the couple, and try to understand their personalities a bit. This helps me capture the most authentic moments.
Being that this was my first crack at being a wedding videographer, the entire day was special to me. Someone had given me an opportunity to capture the most important day of their lives! If I had to name a specific moment that felt the MOST special, though, I would say it had to be the reception. Everyone there was just so kind and having a great time, so it was just fun for me to be a part of that.
