Do I Need A Wedding Videographer?

When it comes to your wedding day, you want to have every moment captured. The day goes by so quick, and sometimes you don’t even realize what happened.

Photos are essential. They freeze a moment in time. A good wedding photographer is absolutely worth the investment.

Video, though. Well that’s a different story. There’s something magical abotu a wedding video that brings your memories to life in a way that still images can’t. Wedding videos capture emotions, words, moments, ambient sounds, the fun others are having, and more. It allows you to RE-LIVE one of the biggest days of your life.

This was exactly the case with Ryan and Jamie, a couple I had the pleasure of filming at CedarVale Events in Hubbard, Oregon. Initially, they didn’t plan on hiring a videographer at all. They weren’t sure it was necessary—after all, they had a fantastic photographer lined up. But after seeing their wedding video, they couldn’t imagine NOT having it.

Their wedding day was full of so many beautiful moments, and capturing not just the sights but the sounds—the vows, the laughter, the toasts—was something they’ve been able to cherish long after the day was over. A video lets you experience the day again, in a way that feels just like being there.

Photos are incredible and worth every penny. You can see the love and joy during the first look, the nervousness on a grooms face, and more. But as much as photos speak, they can’t capture the sound of your soon-to-be husband/wife’s voice when they first see you, or the tear rolling down their face as you walk down the aisle.

We live in motion, sound, and feelings.

Wedding films allow you to re-experience those moments, bringing back every word and every movement.

When it’s all said and done, wedding days absolutely FLY by. With all the planning that goes into every detail - big and small - they deserve to be remembered.

So, do you need a wedding videographer? Yes. Yes you do.
